Paige Talks Getting Advice From Edge, How Much She Planned Her Retirement Speech, More

Former WWE SmackDown Live General Manager, Paige recently spoke with Chris Van Vliet at WWE Royal Rumble AXXESS on a range of topics and below are some highlights.

On her new movie and The Rock’s involvement:

“He’s very hands-on, it’s pretty much his baby and he has a wonderful team, Stephen Merchant who wrote it, he was hitting me up every single day, they just love this movie and I love this movie and I hope you do.”

On how much she planned her retirement speech:

“Not much at all, they wanted me to say a certain thing in there, but there wasn’t much planning at all that was the most nerve-wracking speech I’ve ever given.”

On if she could return like Daniel Bryan:

“His (Daniel Bryan’s) is a little different to mine, mine is all spinal, it is a little bit more like Edge and Stone Cold so there is no way I can get back in the ring again. Never say never, maybe in like 40 years time but I don’t think you want to see a 60-year-old girl in there.”

On advice from Edge for her retirement speech:

“The night I was given the retirement speech, Edge was backstage so I talked to him and he said, “I promise you will feel so much better after this when you finally deliver it,” and he is an incredible human and it meant a lot to me.”
