Prem club joins the race to sign Chelsea youngster
Brentford have joined West Brom and several European sides in the race to sign Chelsea youngster Trevoh Chalobah, according to reports.
Trevoh‘s older brother is Nathaniel Chalobah. Nathaniel made his senior debut for Chelsea during the 2016/17 season before he joined Watford on a permanent deal that summer.
Trevoh is four years younger than his brother and he is yet to make his senior debut for Chelsea.

Chalobah has spent the last three seasons away from the Blues. Between 2018 and 2020, he impressed while on loan at Ipswich Town and then Huddersfield Town in the Championship.
The 22-year-old signed a contract extension with Chelsea last summer before he joined French side Lorient on loan. He featured 30 times for them across all competitions during a fruitful loan spell.
The Express & Star reported last week that West Brom are keen to sign the midfielder this summer. They have gone onto report on Tuesday that the Baggies face competition from Premier League newcomers Brentford.
The report adds that after he impressed in Ligue 1 last season, Lorient are hoping to sign him permanently this summer. They go onto state that Chalobah also has interest in Germany.
Elsewhere, Paolo Di Canio has suggested that it is “no coincidence” that Chelsea are interested in Declan Rice.
Alongside Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips, Rice shone for England at Euro 2020. This comes after he helped the Hammers secure a spot in the Europa League by finishing sixth in the Premier League in 2020/21.
Di Canio said: “They were incredible [against Denmark] and he made them [England] nearly impossible to beat.
“He’s a fantastic guy because he’s a specialist in this position in midfield.
“They were incredible and made them [England] nearly impossible to beat.
“Rice became the third central defender against Ukraine and he sorted out any problems, he’s a very, very good player.
“It’s no coincidence that in England you hear about Chelsea interest.
“To have Rice at this time in his career with the prospects that he can become one of the best in his position with his physical presence. He’s one of the best.”
