Man Utd face two obstacles in efforts to sign €100m striker
Manchester United will have to overcome two obstacles if they are to sign Juventus striker Paulo Dybala, according to one journalist.
Reports have suggested that Juve are happy to send Dybala to Old Trafford as part of a swap deal for Romelu Lukaku, with the Old Lady trying to edge ahead in the race for the Belgium international.
Juventus vice-president Pavel Nedved has confirmed that the club have received “proposals” for Dybala with Juve reportedly valuing him at €100m.
Dybala, who could be the perfect signing for United, has scored 10 goals in 42 appearances this term but Max Allegri has named the 25-year-old on his bench on 10 occasions leading to suggestions Juve might cash in.
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio (via the Daily Express) claims that United must jump over a couple of hurdles before they can sign Dybala.
Firstly, they have to convince Dybala to join the club with the Argentina international meeting up with new boss Maurizio Sarri for talks this week to see if he fits into his plans.
And the second obstacle will be reaching a deal with Juventus with most swap deals proving to be very complicated.
Di Marzio claims Lukaku’s value is €82/83m, which is quite a bit less than Dybala’s and that has the potential to lead to trouble in negotiations.
However, the journalist adds: ‘they feel that this exchange is in both clubs interest (with no cash sum needed to be included in the deal)’.
