A report has revealed the four names on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s transfer shortlist as he looks to improve his Man Utd defence.

The Red Devils are currently second in the Premier League table, through to the FA Cup quarter-finals with the latter stages of the Europa League on the way as Solskjaer looks to bring silverware to Old Trafford.

Man Utd have reportedly prioritised a new centre-back as their main transfer target for the summer window with many expecting them to sign a new partner for Harry Maguire, although Paul Parker doesn’t see it that way.

Raphael Varane was yesterday confirmed as a target by a report in Spain and there have been numerous other links with defenders over the past few months.

But ESPN has now narrowed it down to four names in a report on Friday as Solskjaer ‘looks to solve his team’s defensive frailties’.

The report claims that Man Utd will ‘prioritise signing a new centre-back in the summer’ and that ‘Solskjaer is keen to bring in a partner for captain Harry Maguire’.

ESPN add that ‘Sevilla’s Jules Kounde, Aston Villa’s Tyrone Mings, Raphael Varane at Real Madrid and Braga’s David Carmo’ are the names on Solskjaer’s four-man shortlist.

RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano is ‘also a target’ but they view Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich as ‘a step ahead in the race for his signature’.

Solskjaer ‘has been promised money to spend to strengthen the squad in the summer’.
