Liverpool star Jones tipped to ‘easily’ start for England
Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones has been praised for his “absolutely superb” performances by Darren Bent.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have been dealt with a lot of injury troubles this season. This has meant that he has had to rely on some of his more inexperienced players this campaign.
Jones has been a chief example of this, with him making 15 appearances already this season. This has already surpassed his number of appearances last term, which totalled 12 in all competitions.

The youngster has been in fine form this campaign, as he has scored three goals in all competitions.
Speaking on talkSPORT’s Drivetime show, Bent claimed that if Jones continues to play every week for Liverpool, he should “easily” start for England:
“Playing in front of no fans has probably helped ease him in. But he’s played at Anfield before when it’s been packed – so I think he can handle the pressure.
“He has been absolutely superb. I’m sure Jurgen Klopp is looking at his performances, already thinking ‘if everybody is fit, I don’t think he’s too far away from being in that starting midfield’.
“You’d have Fabinho in there holding, Thiago potentially, and then it comes down to Jordan Henderson or Wijnaldum.
“Listen, if everyone is fit and he is still playing every single week for Liverpool, who are the best team in this country. Then he should be starting for England – easily.”
So with Spurs looking to recover, Leeds looking for satisfaction, Southampton looking to keep going and Arsenal looking for just literally anything, you could call this a Big Weekend.
