Rashford rejects Barca, Juve to give Man United ‘huge boost’
Marcus Rashford has given Manchester United a ‘huge boost’ by promising ‘to help to revive the club’s fortunes’.
With Rashford’s contract expiring in the summer of 2020, United have been negotiating with the forward over a new deal.
The Times say discussions ‘are nearing completion’ between the two parties, with Rashford agreeing to ‘a long-term extension’ with ‘a lucrative pay rise’.
United really should build around the 21-year-old under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with Rashford apparently ‘determined to help orchestrate a lasting upturn’ at Old Trafford.
The striker had started to attract interest from Barcelona and Juventus as he approached the final 12 months of his deal, with United having an automatic option to extend it by one year.
The influence of Solskjaer, under whom Rashford feels ‘he can continue to learn and improve’ is said to be the driving force.
