New Trademarks Filed for The Elite’s Future Wrestling Promotion
For those who enjoyed the All In show earlier this year, 2019 could turn out to be an even more ambitious year for the members of The Elite. It was reported several weeks ago by SEScoops that The Young Bucks and Cody Rhodes, along with Jim Ross, Chris Jericho, and agent Barry Bloom had all been linked to the launch of their very own wrestling promotion. Tony Khan, the son of billionaire Shahid Khan, was also said to have been backing the project. Additionally, it was also noted that all parties involved were working with AXS TV to fast-track the project and make sure that it goes live sooner rather than later. The rumors relating to this supposed new promotion began to die down over the past few weeks, until now.
Although Jericho and AXS TV both denied the reports when they first surfaced, an interesting development in the story has just been uncovered. WrestlingNews.co found new trademarks for a future wrestling promotion which may belong to the reported project in development by The Elite. Trademarks were officially filed on November 5th for an entity titled “All Elite Wrestling, LLC.” The trademarks were filed in Jacksonville, Florida. What makes this even more fascinating is that the Jacksonville Jaguars football team is currently owned by the Khan family. This would certainly seem to indicate that there will indeed be a new promotion headed up by Tony Khan, Jericho, Ross, and The Elite introduced within the next few months.
Other trademarks and artwork for some other properties associated with the project have been discovered as well. Filings for All Elite Wrestling, AEW, Double or Nothing, and All Out have been found, and an official website for the upstart promotion has been registered as well. There is currently no update on the promotion’s relationship with AXS TV, which currently features New Japan Pro Wrestling, and is set to air Women of Wrestling in January. The original reports claimed that the promotion would be launching a weekly show by late 2019/early 2020, and that feelers had been sent to WWE and NJPW talent about joining. Expect more news and information about All Elite Wrestling to be released very soon.
