Cody Announced for AAA, Full Gear Challenge, Kanellis to Miss WM?

Cody Rhodes may be working as an Executive Vice President for All Elite Wrestling now, but he is still keeping himself busy as an active competitor. Rhodes is on the shelf with an injury at the moment, though he has just accepted a booking from a prominent promotion. Cody confirmed today that he will be appearing at Lucha Libre promotion AAA’s Rey de Reyes event. Fans can catch Cody in action during the March 16th show in Puebla, Mexico. AEW announced that they had landed a talent sharing partnership with AAA a couple of weeks ago, so Cody’s appearance probably has a lot to do with that agreement. The video wherein Cody makes his official announcement for the AAA show can be seen below:

Those who regularly watch the Being the Elite series on YouTube may be aware of the “full gear” running gag. The members of The Elite poke fun at Hangman Page’s physique and say that he should not be walking around in his gear. It looks like Page has decided to take action now as he has just announced the launch of the Full Gear Challenge. Page announced on social media this week that the challenge will see him encourage fans to join him on his quest to get in better shape. Given that Page will be taking on PAC during AEW’s Double or Nothing event in May, it makes sense for him to work on get the look that he wants in time for the show. For those interested in more details, check out Page’s official post on the matter.

We are just 89 days away from Double or Nothing and what better way to spend them than by getting your body “full gear” ready. I mean, I kind of have to. But I’d like you to join me for the Full Gear Challenge. For the next 89 days I’ll be documenting my journey to get in shape here on my Instagram. Whether your goal for DON is to lose some weight, add some mass, or to somehow do both at the same time, I hope you’ll join me. Share your progress with the hashtag #fullgearchallenge. No more pancake ass or chubby cheeks. We can do this together.

WrestleMania 35 is now less than two months away from taking place, and even though most of the card still has yet to be announced, it looks like Mike Kanellis may not be featured on the show at all. According to the 205 Live competitor, he is not scheduled to be part of the ongoing tournament to determine Buddy Murphy’s opponent for the Cruiserweight Championship at WrestleMania. Kanellis vented his frustrations with not being part of the card for WWE’s biggest event of the year. There is still time for WWE to change plans and at least add Kanellis to the tournament, but that still has yet to be made official. It was reported earlier this year that Kanellis asked for his release from WWE but it was not granted by company officials.

So I have a match next week & it’s not a tournament match.I’d like to say I’m surprised, but at this point it’s just par for the course.Nice to know guys who aren’t even on the 205 roster get shots at Wrestlemania over me. I’m really sick of the blatant disrespect. https://t.co/isBVzwtvBR
