Report: Becky Lynch-Ronda Rousey Feud A Work By WWE

According to Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, Ronda Rousey accomplished her mission with her latest YouTube video: getting mainstream media attention to make her and Becky Lynch bigger stars at WrestleMania. 
Rousey ripped on WWE, the fans and Becky Lynch and many fans got upset when she said wrestling is fake and she would no longer listen to what WWE tells her to do or say. Rousey also claimed to go off script last Monday on Raw.
As mentioned by WrestlingNews, this is taking a page out of a former WWE promotional attempt from the past. In 1995, WWE struggled to get more mainstream media attention and attendance figures lagged so it had Bam Bam Bigelow break kayfabe by conducting interviews that essentially admitted wrestling is “showmanship” ahead of his match with New York Giants great Lawrence Taylor from the NFL. Reportedly, it’s the same sort of tactics the company is using now with Rousey and Lynch:

Rousey and Lynch are reportedly very close friends in real life and nothing being said by Lynch has legitimately offended Rousey and WWE is not upset at Rousey for what she has been saying lately. Rousey is doing everything to get the fans to hate her because the goal is to make Rousey and Charlotte Flair bigger stars at WrestleMania. As of now, Rousey is scheduled to take time off from the company and she is not scheduled for any WWE shows after the post-WrestleMania edition of Monday Night Raw.
