Becky Lynch Reveals Who Saved Her Job, Angle Wrestling on Raw
These past few months have been incredible for Becky Lynch. Becky had been a beloved member of the WWE roster, but it wasn’t until she became “The Man” late last year that she truly rose up as one of the top stars in all of WWE today. Lynch went from being in the pre-show of WrestleMania last year to winning the women’s Royal Rumble match and headlining the show in a match against Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey at this year’s event. However, Lynch’s WWE career almost never even happened. As the former SmackDown Women’s Champion revealed on St. Patrick’s Day earlier this month, the company nearly decided to release her, but in the end, officials decided to keep Lynch around.
How was Becky Lynch able to stay in WWE and prove herself to those working for the company? According to Lynch, it all had to do with a certain WWE Hall of Famer. During an interview with ESPN, Lynch was asked about nearly being cut from WWE, to which she said that there were actually quite a few instances when she was on the verge of being let go. However, Dusty Rhodes often stuck up for her and was a huge fan of her promo work in the WWE Performance Center. Rhodes and Lynch clearly had a bond, and Rhodes’ last tweet before he passed away saw him praising the future champion. Lynch is still with WWE and she has the chance to become Raw Women’s Champion for the first time in her career at WrestleMania 35.
Kurt Angle will be wrestling in his final match at WrestleMania 35, but it looks like his farewell tour will continue. Angle posted a message stating that he will once again be on Raw to continue his retirement tour. The WWE Hall of Famer recently faced off against Apollo Crews and Chad Gable, so it will be interesting to see who else the former world champion steps into the ring with before he calls it a career. With only two more weeks to go until WrestleMania 35, this could be Angle’s final time competing on Monday Night Raw. Angle announced this week that he will take on Baron Corbin in his last match on “The Grandest Stage of Them All.” That match will be taking place during the show on April 7th.
The “Kurt Angle Farewell Tour” continues this week on Monday Night Raw. Don’t miss it! ?????? #itstrue
