Hoboken Family Looks For Masked Hero Who Rescued Son's Teddy Bear

HOBOKEN, NJ — Suddenly, fuzzy-wuzzy wasn’t there, and a Hoboken boy was inconsolable — but a strange man in a mask arrived to help.

Last month, the Levi family of Hoboken was strolling near Hoboken Cove, an inlet off the Hudson River. Little Thomas Levi, who turns 3 later this month, dropped his beloved Teddy bear.

According to the family’s video, the boy began crying hysterically as Teddy bobbed in the water below, threatened by the undertow.

An unidentified man in a mask climbed down the rocks nearby, was able to grab the bear, and even performed faux CPR on him. (The bear’s name is “Doobie,” says father Ron Levi, which is Hebrew for teddy bear.)

Then, the masked man took off.

The family recently posted a video of the rescue on a Hoboken parents Facebook group, and then submitted it to Inside Edition to try to find the rescuer so they can thank him.

After the show aired and the link was posted on Facebook, viewers had a variety of positive comments. “He performed ‘CPR’ on Teddy! Adorable!” said one.

But on Sunday night, Ron Levi said that the family still had not learned the identity of the masked man who went out of his way to rescue fuzzy wuzzy.

So…we have to ask: Who wuzzy?
