WWE SmackDown ratings steady with last few weeks

Last night’s SmackDown on FOX, headlined by a triple threat number one contender’s match between Daniel Bryan, The Miz, and Baron Corbin, averaged 2.439 million viewers, up one percent from last week. 

In the key demos, SmackDown averaged a 0.4 rating in 18-34 (down 11 percent) and a 0.65 rating in 18-49 (down seven percent). Both numbers were identical to two weeks ago.

In total viewers, SmackDown actually beat programming on ABC, which it usually trails, but still fell behind NBC and CBS. SmackDown did handily top all of network programming in the demos. 

The show opened with 2.54 million viewers in hour one and fell eight percent in the second hour, with that hour averaging 2.337 million viewers. That’s a stronger-than-usual drop for SmackDown.

Bryan won the number one contender’s match and will challenge “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt for the Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble.
