Urban volley campaign in Berlin

Gearing up for the upcoming season, Berlin Recycling Volleys are aiming high as they launched their new marketing campaign “Berlin plays volleyball” this Tuesday.

 

Joining forces to promote volleyball in Germany and especially in the city Berlin, the 2013 German national champion and its title sponsor presented the image campaign which will make Berlin Recycling Volleys appear in a new look. The team’s appearance will be more than ever reflect the belongingness to Germany’s capital city. Accordingly, the club introduced its new campaign at the TV tower, one of the city’s most famous landmarks.

Praising the city Berlin at a height of 203 metres, club president Kaweh Niroomand said: “Berlin is a cosmopolitan city – lively, creative, multi-cultural and steadily changing – and as spectacular and dynamic as our home town is our sport volleyball!” Something, the club wants to prove: “Volleyball has been considered a fringe sport over years and is far away from being as popular as other team sports. We could improve that image to some extent over the past two years, but now we want to convince even more people of the attractiveness of our sport and enthrall them with Volleyball”, Niroomand added.

Berlin Recycling Volleys, its title sponsor and media partners want to get Volleyball out of the gyms and into the city – and to show that Volleyball can be played nearly everywhere is proven by the team of head coach Mark Lebedew. For their image film, the team was playing volleyball all over the city alongside the famous sights and well-known places, and now asks the Berlin volleyball community to join in.

“That’s a great campaign, we love it”, says team captain Scott Touzinsky adding: “We hope, the people like the clip as much as we do and will participate.” As an addition to the team’s website, the campaign site urban-volley.de was developed and now serves to bring together all Volleyball lovers. “We want to establish a Volleyball community that digs, sets and dives outside of the gyms within our city”, Niroomand explains.
