Chelsea to ‘negotiate formula’ for Coutinho signing

Chelsea are reportedly ready to “negotiate a formula” for the transfer of Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona this summer.

The 27-year-old is keen on a return to the Premier League, with his agent trying to convince the Blues to complete a deal for his client.

It is claimed the playmaker – currently on loan at Bayern Munich from Barcelona – has been offered to Serie A clubs, but they have turned down the chance to sign him.

Sport reports that Chelsea will “negotiate a formula” for the transfer, though it is thought they will only consider a loan move.

 

 

But Barcelona are looking to sell the Brazil international permanently to muster transfer funds for the summer.

The La Liga giants were thought to be wanting to recoup the majority of the £130million they paid Liverpool for Coutinho in January 2018, but are now willing to let the player leave for around £50million.

Chelsea have also been linked with a move for Kai Havertz, who plays in a similar attacking midfield role to Coutinho.
