Chelsea to rival Man Utd for £23m Albanian Serie A star

Chelsea are reportedly ready to battle Manchester United in a bid to sign Hellas Verona centre-back Marash Kumbulla.

The 20-year-old has drawn attention with his stellar performances in Serie A this season.

United have been linked with a move for the Albania international and have allegedly been told they will have to stump up €25m (£22.9m) if they wish to sign him this summer.

According to The Express, Chelsea are also keeping an eye on Kumbulla whose contract runs out in the summer of 2022.

But both Premier League clubs will face competition for his signature from Serie A, with Lazio, Inter Milan and Napoli also monitoring his progress.

The youngster has made 19 appearances for his club this season, scoring his one goal against Sampdoria in October.

Manchester City have also previously been credited with an interest in the centre-back.
