36 Children Rescued From Madrasa In Pune, Teacher Held For Sexually Assaulting Them

Thirty-six students were rescued from a madrasa in Pune on Friday after reports of sexual abuse surfaced. The children from Bihar are as young as five years of age.

The Maulana of the Madrasa, 21-year-old Rahim, was arrested by the Police after two 10-year-old children ran away. They were rescued by the Child Welfare Committee.

Upon questioning, they told the committee that one of the clerics who visited the madrasa frequently used to abuse them sexually. They also told that Rahim would ask them to undress and then touch their private parts.
